47 – Explore the creative you

Creativity is in our nature and is an inherent quality that we all possess. However, as life progresses and we 'grow up', we tend to stop being creative. Unless our job requires it, we cease to use the power of our creativity. Yet it is through our creative endeavours that we can genuinely express ourselves.

A report from the National Alliance for Arts, Health and Wellbeing (APPG) suggests that having a creative hobby can benefit our mental and emotional health.

It follows two years of research, which found that the arts can help to keep us well, aid recovery and supports people to live longer and healthier lives. And it doesn't matter how old we are.

For this week, begin to express your creativity. Draw, paint, write, do whatever it is that brings out your creativity. Let your inner child flow and have fun. Put away the adult judgemental mind and allow yourself to be free to create.
