This is probably one of the most important activities we can do daily. The ability to use our minds to create the life we want is so underutilised that it's unreal.
Before doing this, spend time noticing what thoughts and images run through your mind regularly. Often, it is routine, doom and gloom, things not going right, something not happening fast enough etc.
We get more of what we focus on. You've probably heard this before, yet we still spend most of our time focusing on what we don't want and wonder why we get more of it.
Your task this week is to spend a minimum of five minutes per day focusing on what you want life to be like. The longer, the better, but start small. If five minutes seems too long, then you can start with one minute. The main thing is to begin this daily then expand on the time.
Find somewhere quiet, where you will be undisturbed for the duration you set out. Sit comfortably, feet flat on the floor, and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, then allow your breathing to return to normal.
Now, begin to focus your attention on seeing your life how you want it to be. See yourself doing things you usually wouldn't do because of fear. Imagine doing these things without fear and doing it comfortably and enjoying it. Be free. Let your imagination run wild.
Don't worry if you find this hard at the beginning. It takes practice to progress. If you find your mind wandering, don't worry. Just catch yourself and return to the visualisation.
Daily practice will make it easier to visualise and focus your mind, and as a result, you will find yourself changing and doing things that previously, you were too afraid of doing.
