22 – Practice kindness


Besides the obvious, kindness has several benefits for our emotional wellbeing. Kindness is the opposite of stress physiologically. Carrying out kind acts for others releases oxytocin (feel-good hormone) into our system, which makes us feel good, but it also has a healing effect on our system.


Some of the benefits include:


-         Slowing of ageing at the genetic level

-         Increasing vagal tone

-         Offers cardio-protection (protects the heart)

-         Improves antioxidant activity

-         Slows ageing of skin cells.



As you can see, being kind has many benefits, so from today, practice kindness daily, even if it's for selfish health reasons, it's a win-win for all.
